it makes me kind of depressed that, from what i can tell, no one reads this page. thats why i havent put anything up on here for awhile. i like this format, but..i dunno. no one cares. boohoo.
ran my first 15k yesterday. my legs are killing me today. im all sunburned. and i still feel fat.
i dunno. nothing else feels appropriate now.
do you ever drink water and think, "This is life," and moan a little bit while youre drinking it because it feels so good to just be drinking water. am i weird?
went to see 300 at midnight last night. i like the fact that i am still affected by movies. when i left i was acting all tough. mentally, that is. i still am a little. im exhausted though. wednesday night i got about 4 hours of sleep after having a good workout, and then went home last night after work to work on music for tonight. im really quite worried about tonight. my friend sarah asked me to play for a gallery night for her school about 3 weeks ago, just "classy" background guitary stuff. i said yea, no problem. then about a week or so later she told me nevermind, her teacher had got a string quartet. then on wednesday night she called me back to tell me the string quartet canceled, can i still do it? well, id already gotten off work, so i said yea, sure. i guess. called up chase yesterday and i was really surprised when he said no. i mean, i understand his reasoning, but..i know that if the situation was reversed, i would be down to help him, no question. it's kind of making me sad.
anyway, went home last night to get some more songs worked out (you know, more than 2), and got all excited so that i couldnt take a nap, which i had fully intended to do. so i laid down for less than an hour, didnt even really go to sleep. then got another red bull/clif bar combo and went to the movie. which was awesome. youd be hard pressed ott walk out of that movie and not just want to say once, "yea, that was pretty awesome."
anyway, just did another red bull/clif bar combo. this is the best fake energy boost ive found. the red bull kicks you up pretty quick, and then by the time the red bull is fading the clif bar pops in. i like it. well, actually i love healthy sleep, but this will do for now.
so here's the setlist i have so far for tonight. not bad for one night's work if i say so myself. some are worse than others, but a couple of them i think i'll continue to work on. most of them i just slowed down to make it..countrified. one though i came up with a completely different melody:

theres a couple more that im going to work on after work for a bit, see if i can get them sounding halfway decent, jessie's girl and time trap. i want to try and do a version of in the air tonight, but i just havent really figured out a way to do it. i dunno. it will be just me and my lonesome guitar. i figure i'll run through these, play around for awhile, or in between, then just put on some jazz records. i say records. you know i mean cds. bah.
im tired. man. i hope tonight i wont completely embarrass myself. cross your fingers. you.

well, im not sure how rare this is but i havent really found it in any biopic of dan the automator.
the first time i heard this track, it was just labeled charlie parker, and i thought it was him. i was amazed. i found out later it was from this charlie parker remix project called bird up. anyway, a bunch of people were on it, from the rza to some guy in system of a down. but i thought dan the automator's tracks really caught the essence of the project, taking original tracks, rearranging them, and adding just a little bit on top, not just putting charlie parker samples over mostly original music.

ok, so chocolate animal crackers are the best thing in the world right now. i have to eat a regular animal cracker after it or else i am force to consume another chocolate one. jesus.
so this morning i had to give myself a little pep talk. see, i was supposed to take this test in nutrition yesterday, and i just skipped it because i hadnt read any of the chapters, and i know the lowest test grade gets replaced by the grade i get on the final. but the final is comprehensive anyway, so i have to read it, and besides that i WANT to read it, im actually interested in the subject, how could i not be. but for some reason ive just found it hard to just sit down and read the damn thing even if i am interested. i find all these other silly things to do.
so anyway, every now and then i have to just tell myself, its ok, its not like ive been setting things on fire or anything, i can still make this alllll better.
but this last weekend i went on another benderishthing. i mean, i just got drunk friday and saturday night. i remember everything, nothing bad happened, but its just kind of a blur and i feel stupid about it. i know what getting drunk feels like, ive done it...god, hundreds of times now, and theres just no reason to do it when there are other things that i know i should be doing. just a little disappointed in myself.
but whatever. spring break is next week, i'll have all the time in the world to read for a week, ive got some races coming up, and sept. 20 is just getting closer and closer.
